Rumor: Next ‘Call of Duty’ To Be Set In The Future?

The Call of Duty website has posted a link to a video on YouTube from the FPSRussia channel, that features a futuristic bit of kit, a Quadrotor, with a machine gun attached to it, it is pretty cool. The host of the show says that the piece of weaponry won’t be available for at least 10 years, continuing to say that though it won’t be around for a while, it may be in the next Call of Duty game. Seems like a pretty big hint from Activision to me.

With the reveal of the game set to be in about a weeks time, we don’t have long to wait until we find out the setting of the game, but signs are pointing to a near-future setting.

What do you think? Where will the next Call of Duty be set? If it is in the future is that a good thing? Let us know in the comments below!

New ‘Call of Duty’ Set To Be Revealed May 1st

Revealed through the teaser image above, the next Call of Duty is set to be revealed during the NBA Basketball Playoffs on May 1.

The most likely reveal will be Black Ops 2, which has been rumored for a while now. Activision has said the game will launch this year, but not given a solid date, so expect Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to be announced and most likely a release date as well.

Rumor: iPhone 5 To Utilize New Case and Touch Technology?

These rumors actually seem like they could hold some weight, and I really hope they are true because they sound awesome!

The first one is the use of “LiquidMetal” in the new iPhone. So a Terminator iPhone you say? No, according to the company’s website, the material is an alloy that combines over twice the strength of titanium with the processing efficiency of plastics. Scientists have developed the technology where our metal alloys behave similar to plastics. Could the next iPhone be getting rid of the plastic cases that have been used in the latest iPhone’s in order to use this technology? Sounds like quite a cool feature to me.

The other rumor is another very cool option that Apple has to choose from, according to DigiTimes, the next iPhone could feature “in-cell multi-touch technology”, what is that? Well basically it is a technology where the touch feature is built directly into the screen instead of a separate layer over the top of the LCD panel, allowing the screen to be clearer and more responsive, thinner and lighter!

Both of these technologies can give the iPhone that much-needed new look that we are hoping for, as well as having practical advantages as well.

So there you have it, a couple of rumors that could very well turn out to be true and I hope they do!

What do you want in the next iPhone? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Rumor: God Of War 4 Coming?

Oh I really hope this is for God of War 4!

Posted on the Playstation facebook page, the image above teases a reveal on April 19, by the looks of the image and the popular consensus about the image is it could be a reveal for a new God of War.

The colours of the picture do strike a resemblance to those used for previous God of War ad campaigns and vengeance is Kratos’ thing, so it seems like a pretty safe bet right? I hope so.

Rumor: iPhone 5 To Launch in October?

According to a report on MacRumors, the iPhone 5 may be released this October. The report states that a newspaper, Maeil Business Newspaper, contacted the Apple supplier Foxconn and was told by the HR manager that Apple has just placed an order for an October launch.

“According to a recently published article, the paper asked the head of human resources at Foxconn’s Taiyuan factory about the iPhone 5 release date. The human resources head apparently told the paper, “We just got the order. It [the release] will be around October.”

Take this with a grain of salt as there is rumors everywhere as to the launch of the next iPhone. Don’t believe anything until you have an iPhone 5 in your hand.

Rumor: More PS4 Details Emerge

According to a report on IGN, sources close to the site say they have information on what the specs of the Playstation 4 will be. According to the sources the PS4 may contain AMD’s A8-3850 APU and Radeon HD 7670 GPU, “offering the combined performance of both integrated and discrete graphics processors.”

“The A8-3850 packs a quad-core 2.9GHz processor with an integrated graphics chip. The APU will work in tandem with the system’s dedicated GPU, the HD 7670, a DirectX 11-enabled card clocked to 1GHz with up to 1GB of dedicated VRAM.”

Now as the 3850 has an integrated graphics chip in it, the PS4 could potentially split graphics processing power between its dedicated GPU and the inbuilt graphics of the processor.

I’m beginning to believe some of these stories coming out about both the PS4 and the Xbox 720, to much information has begun to leak out to not be based on fact. Looking at the specs and features of each console, it seems as though both companies are going for boosts in the graphics and processing departments as would be expected from a next-gen system, but also to combat used games and include constant internet connections.

What do you think, do the rumored specs of the Playstation 4 get you excited?

Battlefield 3 Introducing E-Sports Feature?

If you load up your copy of Battlefield 3 on the Playstation 3 today you might see something interesting. Under the multiplayer menu and Matches sub-menu you will get an alert that states you are not scheduled for any E-Sports matches, directing you to visit the Battlelog website or participate in the Battlefield tournament.

This is a very interesting addition to Battlefield 3, it would seem that DICE and EA are trying to get Battlefield in to the E-Sports community, this could be a big boost for the game, made easier with the Rent-A-Server function that was added in the last mega patch for the game last week.

Rumor: Xbox 720 to Contain Blu-Ray and Require Constant Internet Connection?

In another post on VG247, a source close to the website claims that the next generation Xbox, will contain a blu-ray drive and require a constant connection to the internet.

The story goes on to detail some of the tech specs that are expected to be in the console, including 4-6 cores, with dedicated cores for OS and Kinect. The next generation of Kinect is said to be built into the console as well.

Graphics wise the console may come with a dual GPU based on AMD’s 7000 series cards, though it is said “not CrossFire or SLI”.

So what do you think about this rumor, true or false? Let us know in the comments below, or sign up to the forum and chat about it there.

Rumor: Playstation 4 to Launch Before Next Xbox?

According to sources close to VG247, the Playstation 4 will be released before the next Xbox, launching during the christmas 2013 period.

The source stated that Sony “is confident” of getting to the market before Microsoft, this would be smart on Sony’s part, as the Xbox 360 beat the PS3 to the market by a long way, getting a jump in the sales market before the PS3 could even get out the gate.

Other exciting elements that were hinted at by the source were Vita and PS4 connectivity, which was hinted at last week, as well as “Top Line Publishers” close to Sony already having the specs for the new console.

So what do you think? Will Sony get the next iteration of the Playstation to the market before the Xbox, getting that jump they need on sales? Or does this rumor sound like lies to you? Let us know in the comments below, or discuss it in the forum.

Liam Neeson to return as Ra’s Al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises

It has been speculated upon for a while now that Liam Neeson would return in Nolan’s final Bat-film as the villian Ra’s Al Ghul, reprising his role from Batman Begins. It would seem that it is now confirmed that he is returning. In the press notes for the upcoming Wrath of the Titans, it states that Neeson can be seen in Battleship and The Dark Knight Rises.

Seeing as though Neeson’s character was killed off in Batman Begins, I would assume that he will be used in flashbacks or some other kind of plot device in the movie.

The Dark Knight Rises will be released in July.

Rumor: Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Info Leak?

The internet is a wonderful thing for rumors, they can take hold without even a shred of truth to them. This seems to be one such rumor, said to be “found” on the internet, this information seems just legit enough to hold some water. We know that Activision is going to push out another Call of Duty this year, they always do, so lets look at the info that has supposedly been leaked.

Game Modes

  • – Escort
  • – Will be a new game mode
  • – Similar to Search and Destroy however a live player must be escorted to one of three areas (or two depending on the map) without being killed.
  • – The match will have rounds, consisting of one life only.
  • – Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed will return
  • – Team Defender and Infected will not return

Rumor: Playstation 4 Details Emerge?

PS4?

According to a post on Kotaku, an inside source claims to have information on the next Playstation, apparently codenamed Orbis, the next-gen console is said to be releasing in 2013. According to the source the console will run on an AMD x64 CPU and an AMD Southern Islands GPU.

Another big feature rumored is that the console will not be backwards compatible with the Playstation 3, nor will it support used games, having games registered to a PSN account and therefore not being able to trade in or sell at a later date as they no longer work on someone elses console.

Interesting rumors I must say, though I’m not sure about the used games thing, doesn’t seem like something that would go down to well with retail games companies.

Rumor: iPhone 5 to feature 4.6 Inch Screen?

Reuters has reported that the next iPhone will be sporting a 4.6 inch display and launch in the 2nd quarter of this year. According to the article, Apple has already started placing orders with its suppliers, LG and Samsung.

So what do you think? With the Samsung Galaxy SII featuring the same sized screen, do you think Apple will try and compete and bring out a 4.6 inch Retina display for its next iPhone?

Expendables 2 to be Rated ‘R’

From the man himselves mouth, Sly Stallone has confirmed that the Expendables 2 will indeed be rated R. After rumors that Chuck Norris would only appear in the film if there was no swearing which bumped the rating of the movie down to a PG-13 rating, it seems that the film will indeed be rated R, most likely due to the films no doubt excessive amount of violence. That or Chuck Norris stopped acting like a child and let there be swearing in the film, who knows?

No New Xbox at E3

In a surprise move, Microsoft have come out in a statement saying that there will be no new Xbox shown at E3 this year. Rumors have been cropping up everywhere that Microsoft were readying their new console for release and a showing at this years E3. Now this could just be a ploy to take attention from Microsoft so they can have a big reveal at the show, or they could just really not have a new Xbox in the works. One that is ready to show off anyway. Guess we will have to wait till E3 for confirmation on this one.
