Rumor: Next ‘Call of Duty’ To Be Set In The Future?

The Call of Duty website has posted a link to a video on YouTube from the FPSRussia channel, that features a futuristic bit of kit, a Quadrotor, with a machine gun attached to it, it is pretty cool. The host of the show says that the piece of weaponry won’t be available for at least 10 years, continuing to say that though it won’t be around for a while, it may be in the next Call of Duty game. Seems like a pretty big hint from Activision to me.

With the reveal of the game set to be in about a weeks time, we don’t have long to wait until we find out the setting of the game, but signs are pointing to a near-future setting.

What do you think? Where will the next Call of Duty be set? If it is in the future is that a good thing? Let us know in the comments below!

Rumor: iPhone 5 To Utilize New Case and Touch Technology?

These rumors actually seem like they could hold some weight, and I really hope they are true because they sound awesome!

The first one is the use of “LiquidMetal” in the new iPhone. So a Terminator iPhone you say? No, according to the company’s website, the material is an alloy that combines over twice the strength of titanium with the processing efficiency of plastics. Scientists have developed the technology where our metal alloys behave similar to plastics. Could the next iPhone be getting rid of the plastic cases that have been used in the latest iPhone’s in order to use this technology? Sounds like quite a cool feature to me.

The other rumor is another very cool option that Apple has to choose from, according to DigiTimes, the next iPhone could feature “in-cell multi-touch technology”, what is that? Well basically it is a technology where the touch feature is built directly into the screen instead of a separate layer over the top of the LCD panel, allowing the screen to be clearer and more responsive, thinner and lighter!

Both of these technologies can give the iPhone that much-needed new look that we are hoping for, as well as having practical advantages as well.

So there you have it, a couple of rumors that could very well turn out to be true and I hope they do!

What do you want in the next iPhone? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Rumor: iPhone 5 To Launch in October?

According to a report on MacRumors, the iPhone 5 may be released this October. The report states that a newspaper, Maeil Business Newspaper, contacted the Apple supplier Foxconn and was told by the HR manager that Apple has just placed an order for an October launch.

“According to a recently published article, the paper asked the head of human resources at Foxconn’s Taiyuan factory about the iPhone 5 release date. The human resources head apparently told the paper, “We just got the order. It [the release] will be around October.”

Ubisoft Announce Ghost Recon Network and Future Soldier Beta

In a not so surprising move, Ubisoft has today announced they will launch a social website, not that dissimilar to Battlelog and Call of Duty Elite, for the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

The website will have the same features as Battlelog and Elite, with stat tracking and social aspects, you can recieve challenges via iPhone from your friends, customize your weapons and post up your personal weapons for everyone to see. The service looks as though it has been in development a long time, maybe a contributing factor to the games many delays?

Ubisoft also announced there will be a Future Soldier beta running from April 19 through to May 2 and all beta testers will gain early access to the Ghost Recon network to test it out as well as the game.

I think this is a good move from Ubisoft, I am a fan of Battlelog for Battlefield 3 and will be picking up Future Soldier on day 1, if Ghost Recon Network is functioning well, it could be a big boost for the game.
