Rumor: iPhone 5 To Utilize New Case and Touch Technology?

These rumors actually seem like they could hold some weight, and I really hope they are true because they sound awesome!

The first one is the use of “LiquidMetal” in the new iPhone. So a Terminator iPhone you say? No, according to the company’s website, the material is an alloy that combines over twice the strength of titanium with the processing efficiency of plastics. Scientists have developed the technology where our metal alloys behave similar to plastics. Could the next iPhone be getting rid of the plastic cases that have been used in the latest iPhone’s in order to use this technology? Sounds like quite a cool feature to me.

The other rumor is another very cool option that Apple has to choose from, according to DigiTimes, the next iPhone could feature “in-cell multi-touch technology”, what is that? Well basically it is a technology where the touch feature is built directly into the screen instead of a separate layer over the top of the LCD panel, allowing the screen to be clearer and more responsive, thinner and lighter!

Both of these technologies can give the iPhone that much-needed new look that we are hoping for, as well as having practical advantages as well.

So there you have it, a couple of rumors that could very well turn out to be true and I hope they do!

What do you want in the next iPhone? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Rumor: iPhone 5 To Launch in October?

According to a report on MacRumors, the iPhone 5 may be released this October. The report states that a newspaper, Maeil Business Newspaper, contacted the Apple supplier Foxconn and was told by the HR manager that Apple has just placed an order for an October launch.

“According to a recently published article, the paper asked the head of human resources at Foxconn’s Taiyuan factory about the iPhone 5 release date. The human resources head apparently told the paper, “We just got the order. It [the release] will be around October.”

Take this with a grain of salt as there is rumors everywhere as to the launch of the next iPhone. Don’t believe anything until you have an iPhone 5 in your hand.

Google Announce Project Glass

Now this is very cool. Google has released a video and some details about something it calls, Project Glass, a pair of glasses that is like a wearable Heads up Display. The concept video below shows some of the potential uses for the technology. From video calls with view sharing, to maps, to weather and GPS updates.

There has been a bit of this type of technology showcased over the past few months and it’s all very exciting, but seems as though it will be a while before we get any type of consumer model that is easy to use and comfortable to wear.

Anyway, check out the video after the break and let us know what you think.
