Mass Effect 3: Resurgence DLC Available Now

The first DLC release for Mass Effect 3 is available now on Xbox Live and Origin and will be available on Playstation Network on April 17.

The Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Pack includes the following content:

  • Two New Action-Packed Maps – Take the battle to Firebase Condor, a warzone outpost located on one of Palaven’s moons and Firebase Hydra, an old abandoned quarian colony which has since been converted into a critical power facility. Each map represents a crucial asset in the overall fight against the Reapers.
  • Six Powerful New Unlockable Characters – Assume the role of new characters for each class, including the Asari Justicar Adept, Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard and characters from new playable races with the Batarian Soldier, Batarian Sentinel, Geth Engineer and Geth Infiltrator.
  • Lethal New Weapons – Obliterate wave after wave of enemies by unlocking the Striker Assault Rifle, Kishock Harpoon Gun and Geth Plasma SMG.
  • New Consumables – Cash in your credits to purchase reinforcement packs that could include the following new consumables:
    • Strength Enhancer– Applies a melee damage boost for one mission.
    • Targeting VI– Applies a headshot damage bonus for one mission.
    • Stabilization Module– Stabilizes weapons while firing and moving for one mission.
    • Shield Power Cells – Shortens the length of time shields take to begin recharging for one mission.

Ghost Recon Network – Designer Interview

G4 have posted up an interview with the lead designer on the Ghost Recon Network, Rob Newns. The video details what will release with the service, including stat tracking, achievements, heat maps of each multiplayer maps to help with intel and planning your strategies online. Squad management is also in the Network, used both online and with iOS and Android apps developed for the game. You can also use the Gunsmith feature on the go, which means your custom weapons are ready to go when you get home.

Gears of War 3 “Forces of Nature” Map Pack Available Now

The new map pack for Gears of War 3 is now available on Xbox Live. The Forces of Nature map pack features 3 new maps, Artillery, Aftermath and Cover. It also contains Raven Down and Jacinto, as well several new multiplayer characters.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier online Co op Video

IGN have posted up a cool new gameplay video from Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, featuring a look at the games online co op mode. The full game is available to play in co op mode and the video showcases how you need to work together with your squad to achieve the objectives. Whether it is using your technology to get the jump on enemies or making yourself a target so another squamate can heal your friends, teamwork is key in co op mode.

I for one am looking forward to getting online with this game and creating some carnage.


Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC Preview


Activision and Infinity Ward have released details on the upcoming multiplayer and spec ops DLC that is heading to Modern Warfare 3 on March 20 on Xbox 360, no word on release for PS3.

The pack will contain new multiplayer maps which range from close quarters action to nice long firing lanes for sniping, the pack also contains content for the Spec Ops mode. The first addition is Negotiator, a mission where that’s all about breaching door and saving civilian hostages and saving as many of them as you can before the end of the mission.

The second is Black Ice, in which you are working together with your partner to destroy a hidden weapons cache. This mode features the use of snow mobiles which will add a new layer of fun to the game.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer

Capcom have set loose a trailer for the upcoming online shooter, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The trailer doesn’t show any gameplay but it’s still pretty cool. Laser trips mines, active camouflage, thermal vision and some badass knife skills are all present, plus we get some good vision of a licker and tyrant.

Rumor: Next Xbox doesn’t contain a disc drive?

No Disc Drive?

According to a report on MCV, the next evolution of the Xbox won’t feature a physical disc drive, instead opting to go “with some sort of interchangeable solid-state card storage, although it is not known whether this will be proprietary or a more standard format such as SD.”

The report then goes on to claim that a 2013 release window for the console has been confirmed and a reveal at this years E3 conference is not out of the question. Following the article Microsoft offered the following statement to MCV:

“Xbox 360 has found new ways to extend its lifecycle like introducing the world to controller-free experiences with Kinect and re-inventing the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform and how to continue to defy the lifecycle convention. Beyond that we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”
